History of Princess Day

When people think of princesses, they mostly think of the Disney princesses that have all the feminine traits that you can think of. However, the term princess did not come into use until the 18th century with King George I. Before that, many of the wives of prices would be referred to as “Lady so-and-so”. Once Disney brought in their first princess story, Snow White, it all went down in history as princesses and their stories were brought to life by the most famous family entertainment company in the world.
Princess Day itself, however, was not inspired by the Disney company. Instead, it was brought in by a smaller company, Nest Entertainment, which decided to work with Sony Entertainment to develop one of the last hand-drawn stories, The Swan Princess. The franchise itself has over 8 movies that are over 80 minutes long, and these stories were based on the Russian folk tales of Swan Lake. The franchise has since founded this holiday to help children celebrate their imagination and embody the kindness and joy that each child beholds when they think of princesses.
